Now called American Homestyle Buffet...food was awful, don't waste your time or money...food tasted like it had been overcooked, left out. Nothing was good.

New York Buffet formally Stacy's Buffet / Stacy's Homestyle Buffet located next to CVS. Well it's always been one of those local Senior type Buffets. Tasteless and somewhat mushy food. Well there is a God....the State Inspector finally CLOSED it down. I do know one thing and that is if and when the State lets them reopen I will never go there.

So I can't figure out how to give this less than 1 star or I would. We stopped in here thinking it was a new restaurant in town since the last one was closed. Environment: This is probably the dirtiest, nastiest restaurant I have seen in a while. I came here with a family of 4 and even my 6 & 8 year old children don't want to come back. There is some lingering smell in the background and if they didn't take my money as I walked in I would have left. Food: Although I've never been to prison or eaten at a food bank, I am going to say the food quality is on par with that. Imagine the cheapest, lowest quality & tasteless canned food that's been sitting out for an hour and you have this restaurant. Staff: The staff is mediocre and is just there for a paycheck. Not one of them acknowledged our existence or even said high.

This place is now called :"Home Style Buffet" and is located at 2404 S. Volusia Ave., Orange City. Used to be "Stacy's" and apparently went by "New York Buffet" at some point. Maybe the Health Inspector allowed it to re-open or maybe someone else took it over but in any case, I would agree with the review of Kevin J on 9/18/14 - absolutely the most horrible excuse for a restaurant I have ever experienced. And I am NOT a picky eater and I generally love buffets! I did like Stacy's which I thought it still was Stacy's until I entered. I don't even know what most of the main dish offerings were (therefore I only took something that I could identify as chicken to try to be safe). I should have just asked for my $$ back and not even tried to eat there. Seriously, no idea what some of those things were - one pan of what looked like meat had evidently had red food coloring added. There were some spaghetti noodles and a weak red sauce, another pan of some kind of pressed meat patty in gravy. Nothing was labeled in any way. This was like a real life "fear factor". I wandered around from station to station thinking there MUST be something edible here... finally had a few rolls, some white rice, a piece of chicken and some corn. I want my $$ back....

Awful. Point blank. It's a sad mixture of American food and Chinese food but all of it is old and flavorless. The dessert bar had 2 cakes from Halloween. It's st patricks day today. Never coming back. Such a shame, we loved it when it was Stacey ' s Buffet
